On Deliberate Show (and how different it is from frivolous dressing)
Exhibitionists often dress frivolously to do the act. But it does not always have to be that deliberate. In fact, deliberation can happen, and often is considered to be more erotic, if it comes in the form of the act, rather than in the dressing or preparation of it.
As opposed to frivolous dressing, the exhibitionist here dresses in the regular dress code. There is no out of the way deep cuts or translucent top, see-through white shirts with black bras. Instead, there is a willing slip of shoulder, a planned high panty line with a low-rise jeans, there is the extra casual flutter of the skirt cut, sometimes, the bra strap shows an innocent glimpse. Here, the innocence of the show both adds to the charm and the erotica of the exhibitionist as well as the voyeur.
Fetishist Clothing
This is the most edgy display of erotic dressing and exhibitionism. The dresses are very commonly custom made or ordered mostly via sex and fetish stores, usually are of leather, latex, or similar material, which goes to show the thin line now dividing it from delving into the realm of BDSM (Bondage, Discipline Sadism, Masochism . In fact, the wearing of such fetishist clothing is almost always associated to some form of discipline and master-slave fetishism. Reason why we'll keep off that topic for now and leave it to be explored when we look into that genre.
On Being Caught
As I had said previously, negativity or a negative implication sells, drives, coaxes and inspires humanity. While seldom people ever want to be caught, the fetishists thrive in the exhilaration of escaping a potentially 'dangerous' display in an outwardly open and/or public space. Precisely the same thing goes towards oodles of smaller fetish segments like getting wet or letting the waters flow, public display of love, and many more.
The Internet Escape
The Internet of course, is at the same time, one of the most profound human inventions, and the last remaining medium of free speech and action. Among the seemingly countless methodists (no, not the ones with a capital M), believers, voices, that find acceptance, relief and wisdom online, countless fetishists have also found the Internet as a primary place of refuge.
Exhibitionism here started long ago with the advent of email and anonymous email lists. Moved on to chat relays, anonymous and random video chatrooms like chatroulette, now to dedicated forums, paid membership zones for added anonymity and so much more. Truly, the internet has become one of the easiest if not the safest ways for exhibiting oneself.
